From a Botanical Garden to Daikanyama

Find Your Ritual ── Kosmic Alchemy Journal

About an hour's drive from Kamogawa, where we live. We drove through mountain roads, and the greenery gradually deepened. Beyond that lies a distillery that makes full use of a former botanical garden. Mitosaya Botanical Distillery – one of the few places in Japan that makes spirits from fruits and plants in Otaki, Chiba Prefecture.

We, Kosmic Alchemy, also participated in the recent Open Day. We spent the day alongside fellow creators who also work with plants and crafts – naeme, ambessa, and kurukku fields. As the wind rustled through the trees and the scent of earth and leaves wafted around, we had the opportunity to speak directly with many people.

Engaging with plants. Creating something with intention.
These are things that Kosmic Alchemy has always cherished. The time spent in Mitosaya's garden was a quiet reminder of those origins.

〈What we felt at Mitosaya〉

What stood out to us was the reactions of those who tried our deo sprays.

"Lavender, but it's so fresh and sweet?"

We heard that many times. A familiar scent can feel so different. The reason for this surprise lies in the ingredients we use.

Kosmic Alchemy selects single-origin essential oils. These are plant materials with clear origins, delivered directly from a single source. They are carefully distilled from plants that are either organically cultivated or wildcrafted – grown wild in nature. They embody the pure scent of the plant itself. That's why even something named "lavender" can present a completely different character.

Aphrosoul and Hypnósa ── Two Deo Sprays

What captured many people's hearts this time were our two deo sprays.

Aphrosoul Deo Spray has a floral scent where rose, rose geranium, and lemon layer together. It's vibrant yet somehow light, and many people's faces softened the moment they tried it.

And Hypnósa Deo Spray – a blend of lavender and Copaiba resin essential oil, native to the Amazon in Brazil. A rather uncommon combination of lavender and copaiba. Yet, the moment they tried it, many people felt a sense of "comfort for their body." It wasn't about logic; their bodies responded first. Such reactions were memorable.

The body knows what it needs

The interesting thing about scent, I believe, is that the body reacts first, rather than being chosen by the mind.

Your state on that day. Your mood. What you need. Choosing what feels "right" honestly. Your body truly knows what it desires. So, trying it on the spot and choosing it on the spot – such a small experience can be surprisingly enriching.

Although we call them "deo sprays," their use is not limited to the body. On hair. In the space around you. Whenever you want to change your mood, anywhere. You can use it as a body and aroma mist multiple times a day.

As temperatures rise and body heat increases in this season, carry just one mist that uses no synthetic fragrances or chemical ingredients. Something gentle for your skin, the air around you, and your nervous system, as often as you like. Just doing that, I believe, will slightly change how you spend your day.

The popular botanical hand soap and body wash are also created with the same philosophy. Because they are things you touch every day, there is meaning in choosing them. Small choices in your daily life gradually shape the state of your mind and body.

With that lingering feeling in our hearts, we now head into the city.
