A ceramic resin burner made by Fiore D'Oriente in Italy. This plate is specially designed for burning resins such as palo santo, white sage, frankincense, and myrrh. The simple yet beautiful ceramic texture adds to its presence as a ritual item for your space.
The Tradition of Smudging
Smudging is an ancient ritual practiced around the world that uses the smoke of herbs and resins to shift the state of a space or mind. While the materials used vary by culture—from Native American white sage and South American palo santo to frankincense from Egypt and the Middle East, and sandalwood from Asia—the common idea is to "purify a space with smoke."
Material: Italian Ceramic
Ceramic finish suppresses heat conduction, preventing the plate surface from becoming excessively hot even during prolonged use. Ideal for the traditional style of creating fragrant smoke. Its minimalist design blends seamlessly into any interior when placed on a table or shelf.
How to Use
- For palo santo or sage (stick): Light the tip, blow out the flame to let it smolder, and then place it on the plate.
- For resins such as frankincense or myrrh: Light a dedicated charcoal tablet, and once it glows red, place it in the center of the plate. Then, place a pinch of resin on top of it.
- For incense (stick or cone): You can use it by standing it in the center of the plate.
Care
If soot from the smoke accumulates, wipe it off with a soft cloth once it has cooled. While water washing is possible, avoid sudden temperature changes as they can cause cracks in the ceramic.
