What is Hydrosol?

Hydrosol is an "aromatic distilled water" obtained simultaneously during the steam distillation process to extract essential oils. While essential oils are concentrated lipid-soluble components of plants, hydrosols are water containing water-soluble components, and their scent and effects are much milder. As a familiar presence in daily life that can be drunk neat or applied directly to the skin, it has been used in both the kitchen and bathroom in Europe since ancient times.

The Tea Tree Plant

Tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) is an evergreen tree of the myrtle family native to the east coast of Australia.
